OPzS Batteries

OPzS batteries are a type of lead-acid battery with tubular flooded technology designed to provide cost-effective energy solutions with over 3,500 cycles at a depth of discharge of 50%. OPzS batteries are characterized by long service life, outstanding capacity performance and low maintenance requirements, with reduced topping needs. They are excellent for installations in high-temperature environments or in areas with an unstable power source. OPzS batteries are similar to OPzV batteries in the sense that they both use tubular plate technology. Both battery types are used for similar applications, generally for demanding industrial projects in telecommunications, computing, power generation and distribution, railway, airport and seaport signalling, emergency lighting, automation and measuring  systems. The main difference is that OPzV batteries utilize gel technology in a sealed container, requiring zero maintenance, while OPzS batteries are flooded and require low maintenance from time to time. Unlike tubular gel batteries, which are offered in 2V and 12V, tubular flooded batteries are solely offered in 2 volts. However, they are usually connected in series to produce higher voltages. The batteries must be installed in a vented environment and used for stationary applications like; wind energy, solar energy and back up power. OPzS is an abbreviation for : O = Ortsfest (stationary) Pz = PanZerplatte (tubular plate) S = Flüssig (flooded). This type of lead-acid battery is commonly referred to as traction batteries.
