With built-in Bluetooth, the Orion-Tr Smart non-isolated DC to DC charger is a reliable and adaptive 3-stage charger. To monitor, modify settings, and update the charger, use any Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet. It is usually employed in twin battery systems where the service battery is charged by the start battery and the (smart) alternator in automobiles, boats, trailers, and recreational vehicles. This non-isolated DC to DC charger features a running engine-detecting mechanism, a remote on/off switch, and Bluetooth monitoring and programming capabilities. When the engine is not operating, the converter will be stopped by the built-in engine shutdown detector. This stops the starting battery from being discharged unintentionally (see manual for details). A two-pole connection can be used to connect a remote on/off switch or relay contact. As an alternative, the H terminal (right) of the two-pole connection or the L terminal (left) of the two-pole connector (or, for example, the chassis of a car) can be switched to the battery’s plus or minus. Victron’s non-isolated DC-DC charger is appropriate for both lead acid and lithium batteries and may be used in 12V or 24V systems. Models with an output power of up to 400W are available, and an infinite number of units may be linked in parallel to boost output power. It is suitable for temperatures as high as 55°C with full-rated power at temperatures as low as 40°C. Other features of this unique charger include short circuit protection, IP43 certification, and easy installation.
