An all-in-one battery monitor, the SmartShunt is display-free. You use your phone as the display. The VictronConnect app on your phone (or tablet) and the SmartShunt are connected through Bluetooth, allowing you to simply check out all monitored battery characteristics such as state of charge, remaining time, historical data, and much more.
An alternative is to connect the SmartShunt and have a GX device read it. The SmartShunt is connected using a VE.Direct connection.
For systems that require battery monitoring but desire fewer wires and clutter, the SmartShunt is an excellent substitute for a BMV battery monitor.
