The Canbat 12V 100Ah Lead Carbon Battery is a pure lead carbon VRLA battery engineered for stationary energy-storage systems that experience frequent cycling, partial-state-of-charge operation, and irregular recharge patterns. For large RV and marine house banks where frequent solar charging and partial-state-of-charge operation are expected, the CLC100-12 offers stronger PSoC cycling performance than standard deep cycle AGM batteries. The CLC100-12 is commonly used as a replacement 12V 100Ah lead carbon battery in off-grid solar installations, renewable energy systems, telecom backup infrastructure, and engineered stationary energy-storage applications. UL 1989 Certification
UL 1989 certification provides third-party verification of battery safety and performance requirements for sealed lead acid batteries. The CLC100-12 is certified to UL 1989, the Underwriters Laboratories standard covering electrical performance, mechanical integrity, and safety requirements including overcharge tolerance and short circuit protection. As a valve-regulated sealed lead acid battery, the CLC100-12 does not carry the thermal runaway profile associated with lithium-ion energy storage systems and does not require a Battery Management System for cell-level protection — simplifying installation and reducing system complexity for indoor, confined-space, and remote-site energy-storage applications. Certification is issued following independent third-party laboratory evaluation — not manufacturer self-declaration.

Carbon-Enhanced Plate Technology
The CLC100-12 12V 100Ah Lead Carbon Battery uses pure lead carbon construction, with carbon added to the negative electrode to improve charge acceptance and help reduce sulfation under partial-state-of-charge conditions. In standard AGM batteries, repeated partial charging causes sulfation to accumulate on the negative plate — a leading cause of premature failure in solar, telecom, and off-grid applications where batteries are rarely recharged to 100% daily. The carbon additive acts as a supercapacitor layer within the negative plate, improving conductivity, accelerating charge acceptance, and helping maintain plate integrity under the irregular recharge patterns common in renewable energy and remote-power systems.
The sealed valve-regulated design provides non-spillable, maintenance-free operation with no watering requirements. The durable ABS container is suited to stationary energy-storage, telecom backup, remote power, and off-grid solar applications.
Carbon conductivity also improves charge acceptance — the CLC100-12 can recover from 50% to 90% state of charge in under an hour, a critical operational advantage for telecom sites recharging between outages, hybrid genset systems with limited run time, and off-grid installations with unpredictable solar availability.
Canbat lead carbon batteries offer up to 24-month storage capability under proper conditions, with recharge intervals depending on storage temperature and state of charge — significantly longer than standard AGM batteries and well-suited to remote sites, seasonal installations, and inventory applications where extended storage between deployments is expected.
PSoC Performance & Cycle Life
The CLC100-12 12V 100Ah Lead Carbon Battery delivers 2,500+ cycles at 50% depth of discharge — strong partial-state-of-charge cycling performance for a VRLA battery in stationary energy-storage applications. Cycle life is dependent on depth of discharge, charging profile, operating temperature, and maintenance practices. Shallower discharge depths deliver substantially more cycles than operation at full depth of discharge.
Compared with standard AGM batteries, the CLC100-12 is better suited to deeper cycling and partial-state-of-charge operation. In properly designed energy-storage systems, lead carbon technology can support deeper discharge profiles, up to 80% DoD where system design allows, while maintaining stronger cycle performance than conventional AGM batteries under demanding PSoC conditions.
For solar and off-grid applications cycling daily at partial state of charge, lead carbon’s carbon-enhanced plates help reduce the sulfation that limits standard AGM battery life under these conditions. For telecom and remote infrastructure applications where the battery primarily operates on float standby and is discharged only during outages, the CLC100-12 is rated for a 20+ year design floating life at 20°C.

Only have had them installed for a month, so long term we will see how the batteries hold up. Used them dry camping for a week, ran the generator for 30 minutes each day to use the coffee maker. The batteries always showed a full charge. I would purchase these batteries again.

Amazing batteries so far! Purchased 4 of these for a solar setup I’m building at my remote cabin. Have so far only discharged them 3 times (this past weekend) and they held up like a champ! These batteries seem to charge a lot quicker than standard batteries which is great for a solar setup. Very pleased with the quality, so much that I plan on purchasing another 2 to add in parallel for my system. If these batteries are as good as the spec sheet says, they should last me 10 years in use.

Bought 3 x 12V/100Ah to replace my Motomaster AGMs which died 2 months after warranty. The lead carbon perform excellent in the solar off grid setup of my cabin. They charge faster and hold voltage up much longer than any battery I had before, no more low voltage alerts when the fridge kicks in at 60% SoC.
