Description
Victron MultiPlus Compact 12/2000/80-50 120V — Inverter, Charger & Transfer Switch in One
The Victron MultiPlus Compact 12/2000/80-50 (Victron part number CMP122200102) combines three core power functions in a single UL-listed unit: a 2000VA / 1600W pure sine wave inverter, a sophisticated 80A adaptive battery charger, and a high-speed 50A AC transfer switch. It runs on a 12V battery bank and delivers clean 120VAC, 60Hz power — built for RV, marine, off-grid, mobile, and backup installations that need dependable AC output and integrated charging without stacking separate components.

Uninterrupted power when the source drops
When shore power, generator power, or the grid is lost, the inverter takes over the connected loads in less than 20 milliseconds. Computers, routers, and other sensitive electronics keep running without a reboot or a flicker. When AC returns, the MultiPlus transfers the loads back and resumes charging automatically.
PowerControl and PowerAssist — do more with limited shore or generator power
A large charger can easily overload a small AC source. PowerControl lets you set a maximum shore or generator current; the MultiPlus prioritizes your AC loads and uses only the leftover capacity for charging, so it never trips the source. PowerAssist goes further — during short power peaks it tops up the incoming supply with battery power, letting a smaller generator or a 30A shore connection run loads that would otherwise overload it. When the peak passes, spare capacity goes back into recharging the battery.
Adaptive 80A charging that protects your batteries
The main output charges your bank at up to 80A using Victron’s four-stage adaptive charge software — bulk, absorption, float, and storage — which tunes the charge to the battery’s condition to extend service life. An included temperature sensor reduces charge voltage as the battery warms. A separate trickle-charge output maintains a second starter battery for an engine or generator.
Built to scale — parallel, three-phase, and full system monitoring
Need more power? Connect up to six MultiPlus units in parallel, or configure them for three-phase or split-phase operation (split-phase 120/240V via a Victron autotransformer). The unit communicates over VE.Bus, so paired with a GX device such as the Cerbo GX you can monitor and control the system locally over LAN or remotely through the free VRM app and VRM portal. Standard setups configure with DIP switches; advanced features use VEConfigure via an MK3-USB or VE.Bus Smart Dongle interface.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a pure sine wave inverter?
Yes. The MultiPlus produces a true pure sine wave output, suitable for sensitive electronics, motors, and inductive loads.
Does it output split-phase 120/240V?
On its own it supplies a single 120VAC, 60Hz output. A split-phase 120/240V source can be created by adding a Victron autotransformer, or by running multiple units in a split-phase configuration.
Can I run more than one in parallel?
Yes. Up to six MultiPlus units can operate in parallel for higher output, and three-phase operation is also supported with compatible Victron system components.
What do I need to configure or monitor it?
Standard settings can be changed with the onboard DIP switches. For advanced configuration use VEConfigure with an MK3-USB or VE.Bus Smart Dongle interface. For live monitoring and remote control, add a GX device such as the Cerbo GX and use the free VRM app and portal.
