Description
CBL120-12 | 12V 120Ah Sealed Lead Acid Battery | 1,440Wh | T11 (M8 Threaded Insert) | 77.2 lbs (35.0 kg) | Lead Calcium Alloy | UL 1989 Certified
The Canbat 12V 120Ah SLA battery is a valve-regulated sealed lead acid (VRLA) AGM battery designed for large-format standby power systems requiring high reserve capacity, reliable float and light cyclic performance, and extended service life. Featuring lead calcium alloy plate construction and absorbent glass mat (AGM) technology, the battery delivers maintenance-free operation, a self-discharge rate below 2% per month, and a 20+ year design floating life at 20°C. Rated at 120Ah and 1,440Wh with an internal resistance of approximately 4.0mΩ, the CBL120-12 is dimensionally compatible with and commonly used as a replacement for Panasonic LC-P12120 and equivalent 12V 120Ah standby batteries — suited to UPS systems, telecommunications infrastructure, emergency lighting, and mission-critical standby power installations. Certified to UL 1989.
Typical Applications
The CBL120-12 12V 120Ah SLA battery is designed for large-format float standby and light cyclic applications in commercial, institutional, and industrial power systems requiring high reserve capacity and extended runtime. Rated at 120Ah (C20) at 12V, this 12V 120Ah SLA battery is suited to mission-critical UPS systems, telecommunications infrastructure, and industrial standby power installations where long service life and reliable float performance are primary requirements. Typical deployment includes UPS backup power systems, telecommunications infrastructure, network equipment, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting systems, security alarm systems, access control systems, instrumentation systems, electric power systems (EPS), building automation controls, solar backup power systems, and DC control systems. The CBL120-12 is commonly used as a replacement 12V 120Ah SLA and AGM battery and as a compatible replacement for the Panasonic LC-P12120 in UPS systems, telecommunications equipment, emergency lighting installations, fire alarm systems, instrumentation systems, and mission-critical standby power applications.
UL 1989 Certification
UL 1989 certification provides third-party verification of battery safety and performance requirements commonly specified for Canadian commercial and institutional installations. Certified batteries are frequently selected for fire alarm, emergency lighting, telecommunications, security, and standby power systems where engineers, contractors, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) require documented product certification.
The CBL120-12 is certified to UL 1989, the Underwriters Laboratories standard for sealed lead acid batteries, covering electrical performance, mechanical integrity, and safety requirements including overcharge tolerance and short circuit protection. Certification is issued following independent third-party laboratory evaluation — not manufacturer self-declaration.
Canbat maintains UL 1989 certification across its sealed lead acid battery lineup.
VRLA AGM Construction
The CBL120-12 12V 120Ah SLA battery uses valve-regulated absorbent glass mat (AGM) construction, with electrolyte immobilized within puncture resistant micro-porous glass mat separators. The sealed recombinant cell design prevents acid emission under normal operating conditions and permits installation in any orientation. Lead calcium alloy plate construction eliminates watering requirements, reduces gassing, and supports low self-discharge performance. Batteries stored at 25°C may be held up to six months before a refresh charge is required; storage at elevated temperatures reduces this interval.
