Description
48V 30Ah Lithium Battery Upgrade Kit for Ryobi 48V Riding Mowers
The Canbat 48V 30Ah lithium battery upgrade kit is a direct replacement for the removable 48V lead-acid battery bank used in many Ryobi 48V riding mowers and lawn tractors. Built around the GC2-30-48 LiFePO₄ battery module, this upgrade restores lost performance and runtime while eliminating the maintenance associated with sealed lead-acid packs. Designed in Canada for homeowners who depend on their mower weekly, the GC2-30-48 delivers stable power, longer cycle life and excellent efficiency, keeping cutting performance consistent from start to finish.
This 48V 30Ah system is ideal for small to medium-sized properties where owners want stronger torque, more usable capacity and faster charging without altering their mowing routine. With its sealed housing, Smart BMS, LC10-48WP lithium charger and GC2-FG fuel gauge monitor, the kit offers a reliable, maintenance-free lithium solution built for demanding outdoor environments.
Why Upgrade Your Ryobi 48V Mower from Lead-Acid to Lithium
Most Ryobi 48V riding mowers ship with sealed lead-acid batteries, which lose capacity over time, take longer to charge and struggle in thick grass or hills. Lead-acid batteries also suffer from voltage drop under load, causing blades and drive motors to feel weaker near the end of the mow.
A lithium-based Ryobi 48V battery upgrade maintains stronger voltage throughout the entire mowing session, resulting in cleaner cuts and improved performance in demanding areas. Lithium batteries are significantly lighter than lead-acid, reducing stress on the mower’s frame and improving overall efficiency.
Lithium chemistry also eliminates acid, corrosion, watering and sulfation. When paired with a proper 48V lithium charger, the system recharges quickly and safely, making this upgrade ideal for homeowners seeking reliability and simplicity.
48V 30Ah Lithium Kit – Designed for Everyday Ryobi Mowing
The 48V 30Ah kit uses a single GC2-30-48 LiFePO₄ module engineered to match the OEM voltage and footprint of the original lead-acid battery box. While the amp-hour rating may appear lower than some SLA packs, lithium offers far higher usable capacity and significantly better voltage stability under load.
In real mowing conditions, the 48V 30Ah lithium kit typically matches — and often exceeds — the runtime of the factory lead-acid packs. Homeowners with small to mid-sized properties will find this kit more than sufficient for weekly mowing, with a noticeable boost in torque in thicker grass and mild slopes.
Expandable System with a Path to 48V 60Ah Runtime
The 48V 30Ah system is fully expandable. Homeowners who need longer runtime in the future can add a second GC2-30-48 battery module along with a parallel busbar to create a 48V 60Ah system.
This doubles the capacity and runtime while maintaining the same charger, wiring architecture and operational workflow. Starting with the 30Ah kit allows users to upgrade affordably while keeping expansion options open.
